First year of professional baseball...Starred at Sam Rayburn HS in his hometown of Pasadena, TX before moving on to Division I Southern University...Was mainly a reliever his first two years (2012-2013) before moving to a starting spot as a junior...In nine starts, was 3-0 with a 2.06 ERA in 56 2/3 innings...Struck out 49 and allowed only 69 baserunners (46 H, 23 BB)...Absolutely dominant as a starter, hurling six complete games and allowing only 70 hits in 87 innings...Struck out 115 batters (11.90 K/9) and had 3.6 K's for every walk...Had a short stint with River City in the Frontier League before singing with the Stompers.
