In Burland’s first season with Gonzaga, the Spokane-area native accumulated a 3.38 ERA as a reliever...still looking for his first collegiate winning decision, Burland was 0-1 in 11 appearances with one game started...he offered up 13 1/3 innings for the Zags and gave up just seven hits and five earned runs (out of eight total)...he walked twelve batters and struck out 17, one less than 2014 ace, and GU teammate Tyler Frost...Burland held opposing hitters below the Mendoza Line, at .167, which was a team-best mark in 2015...Burland was the fourth-most used reliever for Gonzaga in 2015.

A four-year letter winner at East Valley High School in Spokane, Burland was a First Team All-State selection and named Great Northern League MVP as a senior...Burland was also a First Team All-League member from his sophomore to senior seasons...Burland was a four-year letter winner in football, and a three-year starter...All-GNL selection in foootball as a junior and senior...GNL Football Play of the Year honoree...was a three-sport athlete, having also played basketball for the Knights.
