Chapman is in his second TWL campaign after winning the “Most Inspirational Player” award in the 2014 Texas Winter League. This is his fourth showcase league and he has used them to appear in 37 professional games, hitting .264 in the Pecos and United League. Made his United League debut for the Brownsville Charros, where he hit .273 with three doubles in eight games. Played primarily as a pitcher in the 2014 TWL, appearing in five games and starting six, pitching 11 2/3 innings. As a hitter he was 3 for 5 (.600). Earned his spot on the Charros’ roster with an outstanding 2014 TSL campaign, batting .333 (9 for 27) with four extra base hits and 11 RBIs. Struck out only twice. Also pitched six innings in three games. Prior to the TSL he spent time with the Pecos’ Leagues White Sands Pupfish, Douglas Diablos, and Las Vegas, NM Train Robbers. Played in 25 games for the Train Robbers, hitting .274 with three doubles and five runs batted in. Appeared in two games for the Diablos, going 1 for 4 (.250). Hit .244 (10 for 41) with 10 runs scored, six RBIs and nine walks in the 2013 TSL. Prior to playing in the 2013 TSL he appeared in two games for the Raton Osos of the Pecos League in 2013. At Gallaudet (Division III) he led the North Eastern Athletic Conference in doubles (18) in 2012 and was ranked second in on base percentage (.488), hit by pitch (13), third in batting average (.404), fourth in hits (55), runs (43), fifth in slugging percentage (.574), eighth in total bases (78), 14th in RBI (30) and 15th sacrifice flies (three) in the 41 games he started. In the field he had a .966 fielding percentage. He also made 11 pitching appearances (six starts) where he went 3-0 against conference opponents. The Bison set a team record with 25 victories in 2012. A two-time Jewish Sports Review All-America first team for college baseball at the Division II, III and NAIA levels.
