Another returning player to the Moose squad is no stranger to the state of Maine. Wessel, grew up in the Pine Tree state and was named Mr. Baseball in 2012.  Not only rejoining the Mainers, he is also reuniting with fellow high school teammate Ben Greenberg.  The two formed a two-headed monster for the staff of Scarborough High School back in the day.  Although having to go through Tommy John surgery and unable to pitch his freshman year, the University of Rhode Island still wanted him on their staff.   With the Mainers last season, he posted a 1-3 record with a 3.50 ERA in seven appearances including six starts.  He averaged a hit per inning in 36 innings of work including an impressive 16-to-3 strikeout to walk ratio.
