Stephen comes to Bridgeport for his first season in the Atlantic League during his fifth of professional baseball. The right-hander started the year with Gary of the American Association as he comes to the Bluefish along with James Parr for two players to be named later. During the 2014 season, Hiscock went 10-6 in 23 starts with a 4.53 ERA, two complete games, one shutout and 105 strikeouts in a career-high 147 innings pitched. This past year was his third straight season with Gary where he went a combined 20-14 in 59 games (53 starts) with a 3.79 ERA.

The Waterbury, CT native was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Rollins College in Florida, which he had transferred to after two years at UCONN-Avery Point. He spent his only two seasons in the Rays minor league system as a reliever appearing in 19 games in 2010 with short-season class A Hudson Valley and in 40 games in 2011 with class-A Bowling Green. In 2010 with the Hudson Valley Renegades, he went 3-3 with a 2.95 ERA in 19 games, nine of which he finished with three saves and 38 strikeouts in 36.2 innings pitched. He has appeared in 118 career minor league games (53 starts), recording four saves and 323 strikeouts over the course of 444.1 innings pitched.
