Calfapietra enters his 14th season as Jackals skipper, and is one of the longest tenured and successful managers in minor league baseball. Calfapietra owns 676 regular season victories with the Jackals' franchise. He has guided the Jackals to seven consecutive playoff apperances, including five straight apperances in the League Championship Series. His teams have taken the LCS to the final day in two of the last three years. A four-time Manager of the Year, Calfapietra began his coaching career in 1994 as an assistant for the Northern League's Duluth-Superior Dukes. In 1997, he served under Ed Ott on the Allentown Ambassadors, before stepping into the managerial seat in 2000 at the age of 29. Calfapietra began managing in New Jersey in 2003, and led the Jackals to the 2004 Northeast League Title. Joe is just 14 wins shy of 800 in his career and 24 wins shy of 700 wins with the Jackals. |
