Fernandes earned all-state honors all four years in high school and was named Maine's Gatorade Player of the Year and Rawlings/Perfect Game First-Team All-Northeast in 2012.
Luke is not only a star on the diamond but also in the classroom.  Attending a school steeped in academic tradition, Fernandes possesses the values that the Ocean State Waves pride themselves on.  Relating to baseball, the young right-hander made 21 appearances and had a 3.71 ERA while holding opponents to a .264 average this past year.  This type of early success shows great promise for what is to come
