Gerber earned letters in baseball following his junior and senior seasons in high school. His accolades extended further as he earned first team all-conference as a junior, in addition to second team All-State. During the 2012 season, Gerber posted an 8-0 record with two saves and a 1.21 ERA.  He recorded 64 strikeouts in just 52 innings and delivered a no-hitter on April 18 against Bartlett HS.  Gerber also tossed two one-hitters in 2012.
Creighton is a very strong program to develop in as a player and is exactly what the Waves are looking for. David displays the characteristics of a hard working ball player who will let nothing get in his way of success. This attitude is a characteristic that makes Gerber a great baseball player, as well as a great teammate.
