Vieira joins the Wild Things with two years professional experience with the Florida Marlins organization. He played for both the Jupiter Hammerheads (FSL) and the Jamestown Jammers (NYP) in 2009. In seven appearances with Jamestown, Vieira pitched 19.2 innings, threw 13 strikeouts and only 4 walks, and posted a 2.29 ERA.

In 2008, Vieira made nine appearances in relief for Jamestown. He went 3-0 with a 4.11 ERA, striking out 15 batters and walking three.
A San Leandro, Calif., native, Vieira attended Cal State Eastbay. He led the team with a 10-2 record, and a 3.90 ERA as a senior. He struck out 59 batters while only walking 27. Vieira also holds the record at Cal State Eastbay for second-most saves.
