Ben Rawding joins the Beach Bums following his senior season at Mercyhurst University (PSAC - NCAA D-II) in 2013. For the Lakers this past spring, Rawding went 9-3 with a 2.66 ERA, completing seven of his 12 starts. The lefty whiffed 86 batters in 81.1 innings. 
For his career with Mercyhurst, Rawding posted an impressive 30-8 record with a 2.68 ERA spanning 52 games (47 starts). He struck out 288 batters in 295.2 career innings. Rawding received many honors throughout his career with the Lakers including being named the Daktronics Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year (2012), PSAC West Pitcher of the year (2012) and the ECAC Division II Pitcher of the Year (2012). He was also selected to the PSAC West First Team twice (2012, 2013) and the Second Team twice (2010, 2011)
