After bringing Mankato to the brink of a Summer Collegiate World Series Championship last season, Mike Orchard returns for his fifth consecutive season as the MoonDogs' Field Manager. In his tenure in Mankato, Orchard has built an impressive resume. He is the winningest manager in franchise history with 152 victories, and he is the only one to manage the MoonDogs to back-to-back 42 win seasons. The MoonDogs under Orchard have made the playoffs in three out his four years with the team, and Orchard has been selected to manage the Northwoods League All-Star game three times. In the off-season Orchard is the pitching coach at Central Arizona College, and has past history coaching with Thunder Bay and La Crosse in the Northwoods League before coming to Mankato. Despite all of his records and accolades, Orchard will not be satisfied until he leads the MoonDogs to the championship.
