Nix returns to Newark after appearing in 23 games in 2009 for the Bears and amassing a 4-1 record with a 3.08 ERA. He was signed by Double-A Tulsa and pitched in six games. The righty spent eight seasons in the Atlanta Braves system, peaking at AAA Richmond in 2008. His best season came in 2006 with Single-A Myrtle Beach, where he picked up 6 wins with a 2.90 ERA, 7 saves and 50 strikeouts in 49.2 inning pitched. Nix was drafted by Atlanta in the 11th round of the 2005 draft.
