Manuel enters his fifth season in professional baseball and second in the Atlantic League.  The Sacremento native was drafted in the 45th round of the 2005 Amateur Entry Draft by the New York Mets.  He spent two seasons in Kingsport (Rk, Appy League) before being promoted to Haggerstown (A - South Atlantic) at the end of 2006.  Manuel batted .245 with 45 hits, 31 runs, and 29 RBI in affiliated ball.  After just two games with the Schaumburg Flyers (Northern League) in 2008, Manuel joined the York Revolution to start 2009.  The 28-year-old was traded after 14 games and closed out the season in Newark, where he put together a .243 average with 10 runs and 18 hits.  Manuel is the son of current New York Mets manager, Jerry Manuel.
