Haran returns for his third stint in and Newark and first full season with the Bears.  The Old Bridge native began his professional career in 2007 when he was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals organization and played 12 games for their Gulf Coast League affiliate.  He closed out the season with the St. George Roadrunners of the Golden Baseball League.  After starting 2008 with the Washington Wild Things of the Northern League, Haran was traded to the Bears and played 41 games with 15 runs, 37 hits, and 25 RBI.  In 2008, Haran played 79 games with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League and put together a .297 average with 47 runs, 81 hits, including 20 doubles and 11 home runs, and 46 RBI.  He closed out the season being traded to the Bears.

Haran was a college standout at The College of New Jersey and a three-time NCAA Division III First Team All-American.  In 2006, he was named the National Division III Player of the Year for the Lions.
