Gouin is also returning for his second season in Mystic, making 5 starts in 7 appearances. He went 0-4 for the summer with an ERA of 6.07. Command of his pitches was strong, as Gouin struck out 23 and walked just 8 in 26.2 innings.  
This season for the Hartford Hawks, Gouin recorded his first two wins of his career as he became a reliever. Going 2-2 in 16 appearances, Gouin recorded a 5.35 ERA. He continued to limit his walks, only allowing 11 while striking out 26 batters in 35.1 innings.
In his first two years at Hartford, Gouin made 15 starts in 20 appearances for the Hawks, compiling a record of 0-8 and had a 5.92 ERA in each season. He also struck out 35 batters in 86.2 innings pitched combined.
Gouin played all four seasons at West Orange High School prior to becoming a Hawk, becoming a two-time first-team all-conference selection, and the Area Player of the Year as selected by Worrall Publications.
