Kennedy continues the long list of strong catchers to don the Schooners jersey, following the steps of Joe Hudson and Jake Romanski. Dominant behind the plate, Kennedy has improved his hitting, batting .258 with a .415 on-base percentage. He’s clubbed 2 home runs and 2 doubles while driving in 9 runs and scoring 14 more. Behind the plate, he has note committed a single error all season long and has caught 33% of runners stealing.
Kennedy threw out 60% of base stealers in 2012, while playing in 40 games (31 starts) as a freshman. He picked up 14 hits in 85 at-bats, batting .165 and a .308 on-base percentage. Kennedy was able to draw 14 walks, drive in 4 runs and score 6 more while taking over behind the plate.
