Mike joins the Bluefish during his third season of professional baseball. Previously this year, the righthander split time between Newark and New Jersey of the Can-Am League. In 20 combined starts, he posted an 11-3 record with a 3.15 ERA and 97 strikeouts over the course of 143 inning pitched.

The 24-year-old was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 33rd round of the 2010 amateur draft. He spent two seasons in the Astros organization, reaching as high as Single-A Lancaster of the California League in 2011. In 86 career minor league appearances (21 starts), the New Jersey native owns a 17-11 record with a 4.08 ERA and 187 punchouts in 258 innings of work.
