Perconte was an undrafted free agent out of Murray State and signed with the Chicago Cubs organization and spent 2008-2010 in the Northwest, Florida State and Midwest Leagues. He made it to class AA in 2010 and pitched in the Texas League for Astros and Rangers affiliates before joining the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the American Association earlier in 2012. The Naperville native was acquired by the Slammers on May 26, 2012 from Gary this season in exchange for Chuck Lukanen and Future Considerations. Perconte is the son of former major league player and Joliet native Jack Perconte.
