Rick Miller is in his first season as the manager of the New Bedford Bay Sox.

Miller spent 12 of his 15 Major League Baseball seasons with the Boston Red Sox and three with the California Angels.

 He was an All-American at Michigan State before being drafted by the Red Sox in the second round of the 1969 amateur draft.  He played with the Red Sox from 1971-77 – which included a spot on the World Series roster in 1975 –and then again with the Red Sox from 1981-85.  He played for the Angels from 1978-80 and won a Gold Glove in 1978 as an outfielder.

After concluding his major league career, Miller ran the Rick Miller Baseball School for 17 seasons, was a coach at Colby-Sawyer College, and managed the Nashua Pride in the Can-Am league for one season.
