At 6’8”, Brian is the tallest Honker on the 2009 roster, and the left-hander will look even taller when he is staring down batters throughout the Northwoods League from atop the mound this summer. The native of Oklahoma made 9 starts as a freshman for Wichita State this season, and  struck out 54 batters in just 49.1 innings for the Shockers. Just over a year ago he went 9-1 with an ERA of only 0.79 while striking out 126 and walking just 21 in 70.2 innings as a senior at Owasso High School, and helped the team win the Oklahoma state championships and finish third in the nation. He was also named all-state Player-of-the-Year.
