Fielders love pitchers who work quickly and that’s why they’ve always enjoyed playing behind Bregenzer, who will be a junior at Penn State Abington in the Fall. While Zach’s numbers slipped a little as a sophomore, he’s always been one to dazzle with an array of pitches that move all over the place. Won four games on the hill as a freshman, most notably a 69-pitch, 9-inning, two-hit complete game shutout over SUNY Cobleskill followed three days later by five innings of shutout relief to beat then No. 1 Rowan. Bregenzer starred in high school at Hopewell Valley and was a four year ace for the Hopewell Post 339 Legion team. Zach was MVP of the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Region champs, leading Post 339 to the American Legion World Series.
