Stills joins two of his Vanderbilt teammates (Malloy & Thomas) as members of the Gulls this summer, but Stills is the only pitcher out of the Commodores trio. With a fastball that reaches the mid-90s, he came out of high school as the No. 8 RHP in the state of Georgia and 26th ranked player in the state overall according to Perfect Game. Vanderbilt Head Coach Tim Corbin on Stills: “Mak is a bright young man with a very positive personality. He has an athletic delivery, a good arm and the ability to move the fastball. Mak is a very intentful young man who is going to get the most out of himself. His skill set and work habits will earn him an opportunity to be a future starter.” Stills spent last summer with the Worcester Braves of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. In the regular season, he had 36 strikeouts while surrendering just ten earned runs across 38 innings pitched.
