Brendan Jenkins signed his first professional baseball contract with the RailCats on June 16, 2018.
The righty pitched his last two collegiate seasons with the University of San Francisco Dons. In 2018, Jenkins worked in 30 games out of the bullpen, going 2-2 with a 2.60 ERA, while also posting a team-high 10 saves. In 52.0 innings, Jenkins allowed just 41 hits, while walking 15 and striking out 47. In his first year with the Dons in 2017, Jenkins was 1-4 with a 1.70 ERA in 30 games (one start), allowing 43 hits in 42.0 innings, walking 12 and fanning 41.
Before coming to San Francisco, Jenkins spent 3 seasons at Cuesta College, redshirting the 2014 season. As a freshman in 2015, he went 7-3 with a 1.80 ERA in 85 innings, tossing three shutouts on the season. As a redshirt sophomore in 2016, he was 8-5 with a 2.22 ERA encompassing 92 innings pitched.
Jenkins graudated from Armador Valley High School in 2013 and calls Pleasanton, California home.
