Brophy is no stranger to success.  He played baseball and football at Helena High School where he helped the baseball team to a 6A State Championship in his senior season where they lost only six games.  Brophy was named an All-County Performer in that season as well as his sophomore year.  He finished his senior season with seven saves, which was the most by any high school pitcher in Alabama for the 2017 season. With a 5-2 record in his freshman year at the University of Alabama Huntsville, he has nearly surpassed his career high school win total of eight.  Brophy finished the season with a 2.97 ERA in 18 games.  He also finished with 27 strikeouts while allowing only six walks.  Brophy was used as a situational reliever, as he threw 30.1 innings with his outings ranging in length from just one out to a full four innings pitched. Brophy is going to school for a biology degree, as he eventually wants to become an orthopedic surgeon.  Brophy’s father also played college baseball, and eventually made his way into the Phillies organization, which is Brophy’s favorite team.  Brophy enjoys listening to alternative rock and spends a lot of time outdoors.  Whenever he is inside he enjoys binge watching The Office.
