PREP: Attended San Marcos High School in California where he hit .433 with 25 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in his senior year. Earned All-San Diego Section First Team and California Medium Schools All-State First Team recognition. As a junior, he earned Second Team All-Section and hit .402 with 2 HR, 16 SB, 19 RBI and 33 runs scored; posting a .484 OBP. San Marcos HS won the 2016 Division II CIF Championship. Blas was named Avocado East League MVP twice and was a member of the 15U Team USA. 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American and California All-Region First Team selection. Named to the 2016 Perfect Game National Showcase Top Prospect Team. Rated the No. 396 overall prospect and No. 68 shortstop in the nation by Perfect Game. Listed as the No. 61 overall prospect and No. 16 shortstop in the state of California. Blas also hit .303 with 24 runs scored for the Walla Walla Sweets of the West Coast League last summer.
