Yawger is another of the Bears’ homegrown contingency, having played his high school baseball at Morristown High School for the legendary Harry Shatel, who passed away earlier this year. The submarine-throwing Yawger comes to the Bears after spending four seasons at Long Island University in Brooklyn, where he worked primarily as a relief pitcher. Yawger saw action in 63 games over his four-year career at LIU. He more than likely will be a part of the Bears’ bullpen in 2011.
