Berry enters his first season with the Ducks amid his 12th season of professional baseball. The outfielder has four seasons of Major League experience, including one year apiece with the Detroit Tigers (2012), Boston Red Sox (2013), Baltimore Orioles (2014) and Chicago Cubs (2015). He played 125 games in "The Show" and compiled a .265 batting average with three home runs, 33 RBI, 53 runs, 10 doubles, six triples and 27 stolen bases. He played in back-to-back World Series with the Giants and Red Sox in 2012 and 2013, winning it all during the latter. The San Diego native totaled three runs, two doubles and five stolen bases in 14 career MLB postseason games.

The 32-year-old began the 2017 season with the Rochester Red Wings (AAA, Twins) of the International League. In 14 games, he collected five runs, one double, one triple and one stolen base. The San Diego State University alum previously earned Mid-Season All-Star honors in 2007 with Lakewood (A, Phillies) of the South Atlantic League and in 2009 with Reading (AA, Phillies) of the Eastern League. He was named a Post-Season All-Star those same seasons, as well as in 2008 with Clearwater (A+, Phillies) of the Florida State League. Berry was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth round of the 2006 amateur draft.
