Hawkins had a solid freshman campaign where he made 19 appearances on the hill, 28 in relief. He went 3-0, with one save and struck out 18. Hawkins is off to a strong start in 2017, striking out 5 in 3 innings with a 3.0 ERA. In high school he starred as a pitcher and first baseman in helping his program post a 90-13 record and win three consecutive state championships.
