A single, scoring Chase Fontaine gave the San Rafael Pacifics (27-15) the lead in the ninth inning, and the San Rafael Pacifics hung on to beat the Hawaii Stars (21-21) 5-3 on Sunday.

Brian Gump pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out five.

Matthew Stabelfeld got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. Stabelfeld struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.

Roman Martinez was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
