Delfino leads the Brantford Red Sox to 21-3 win over the Guelph Royals

A great effort by Lee Delfino carried the Brantford Red Sox (10-3) to a 21-3 win over the Guelph Royals (8-7) on Tuesday at David E. Hastings Stadium.

Delfino racked up eight RBIs on four hits for the Brantford Red Sox. He singled in the third and sixth innings and homered in the seventh and ninth innings.

The Brantford Red Sox continued to pile on the runs until the end of the game. The Brantford Red Sox scored 11 runs in the final three innings to cap the blowout win. The Brantford Red Sox scored six runs in the ninth on a two-run single by Josh McCurdy, a two-run single by Hyung Cho, and a two-run home run by Delfino.

Nathan Forer struck out six hitters en route to the the Brantford Red Sox win. Forer allowed no earned runs on four hits and no walks over seven innings.

Adam Reynolds ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out three.

The Brantford Red Sox easily handled the Guelph Royals pitching as seven hitters combined for 20 hits, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
