The Edinburg Roadrunners (58-36) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-4 to the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (51-42) on Saturday.

An RBI single by Welinson Baez gave the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings the lead in the fifth inning.

Baez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Wander Perez got the win, running his season record to 3-1. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Ryan Smith couldn't get it done on the bump for the Edinburg Roadrunners, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.
