The Quebec Capitales top the New Jersey Jackals in back-and-forth affair, 6-4

The Quebec Capitales (63-32) and the New Jersey Jackals (56-39) volleyed the lead five times on Thursday, but the Quebec Capitales came out on top for a 6-4 win on Thursday at Yogi Berra Stadium.

The Quebec Capitales would not relinquish the lead as the New Jersey Jackals were unable to weather a three-run third inning deficit.

The New Jersey Jackals scored on an RBI single by Francisco Caraballo in the third inning, and a double by Caraballo in the fifth inning, and in the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the New Jersey Jackals couldn't get over the hump.

Jonathan Malo had two extra-base hits for the Quebec Capitales. He doubled in the first inning.

Chris Cox got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Dustin Birosak couldn't get it done on the mound for the New Jersey Jackals, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Quebec Capitales were sparked by Malo and Josue Peley, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
