The Worcester Tornadoes fend off the Grand Prairie AirHogs' late push, hold on 7-6

The Grand Prairie AirHogs were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Worcester Tornadoes (14-23) on Monday, as the Grand Prairie AirHogs fell 7-6 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto after falling behind by five runs in the fifth inning.

The Grand Prairie AirHogs scored four runs in the seventh on three singles. Still, the Grand Prairie AirHogs couldn't draw even.

Nick Salotti racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Worcester Tornadoes. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Greg Porter racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Grand Prairie AirHogs. He homered in the first inning.

Phil Negus recorded his first win of the year for the Worcester Tornadoes. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Nick DeBarr ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out three.
