Sunday was a great day for Scott Hodsdon, as Hodsdon tossed a shutout to carry the El Paso Diablos (38-39) to an 8-0 victory over the Sioux City Explorers (35-46) at Cohen Stadium.

The El Paso Diablos' Hodsdon kept the Sioux City Explorers off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on seven hits while striking out six.

The biggest inning for the El Paso Diablos was the sixth. In the inning the El Paso Diablos scored five runs.

Fernando Valenzuela reached base three times in the game for the El Paso Diablos. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth innings.

Nick Schumacher (5-6) took the loss for the Sioux City Explorers. He allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.
