The Lincoln Saltdogs outdone by Brito and the Laredo Lemurs, 5-1

Javier Brito went 1-2, helping the Laredo Lemurs (28-33) to a 5-1 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs (24-38) on Monday at Uni-Trade Stadium.

He doubled in the fourth inning.

The Lincoln Saltdogs couldn't get anything going as long as Chaz Roe was pitching. Roe held the Lincoln Saltdogs hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

David Espinosa had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Justin R. Edwards baffled the Laredo Lemurs, striking out eight batters. R. Edwards allowed four earned runs, seven hits and two walks over eight innings.

Leonard Giammanco improved to 1-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Laredo Lemurs. He allowed one run over 4 2/3 innings. Giammanco struck out none, walked three and gave up three hits.

R. Edwards couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lincoln Saltdogs, taking a loss.
