The Worcester Tornadoes failed to take advantage of Jerod Edmondson's effort at the plate on Saturday, losing 6-5 to the Gary SouthShore RailCats (23-31) at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.
Edmondson blasted two home runs for the Worcester Tornadoes. Edmondson went 3-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Edmondson homered in the first and third innings.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the ninth, with four lead changes.
Ryan Babineau reached base four times in the game for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He scored two runs and had two RBIs. He singled in the sixth inning and homered in the ninth inning.
David Quinowski improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Quinowski struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Matt McDonald couldn't get it done on the mound for the Worcester Tornadoes, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
