The Amarillo Sox fend off the Wichita Wingnuts' late push, hold on 3-2

Story by Narrative Science.

The Wichita Wingnuts (32-18) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Amarillo Sox (28-23) on Tuesday, as the Wichita Wingnuts fell 3-2 at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stad after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.

The Wichita Wingnuts scored on an RBI triple by Ryan Khoury in the sixth inning and an RBI double by Khoury in the eighth inning. Unfortunately, the Wichita Wingnuts weren't able to take the lead back.

Matthew Tucker had a hot bat for the Amarillo Sox. Tucker went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.

The Amarillo Sox relied on Justin Garcia to eat up innings en route to the win. Garcia allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Josh Lowey was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
