The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (15-19)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 9-6 win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes (21-13) on Friday at Shaw Park.
Zach Penprase did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, reaching base four times. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He tripled in the second inning.
Despite the loss, the Winnipeg Goldeyes' Alex Jones dominated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.
Alex Caldera got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Caldera struck out four, walked three and gave up five hits.
Rich Hawkins was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out none.
