Nowell allows no runs to lead the Grand Prairie past the Rockland 8-3

Teddy Nowell kept the Rockland off the board during his six innings of work and the Grand Prairie (22-11) beat the Rockland, 8-3.

Nowell allowed two hits, four walks and struck out three.

Chris McMurray put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Grand Prairie. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Ryan Scoma did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Rockland, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the ninth inning.

The Grand Prairie's Greg Porter, Yasutsugu Nishimoto, Brian Myrow and McMurray combined for 11 hits and three RBIs.

Pat Moran couldn't get it done on the hill for the Rockland, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
