The Winnipeg (20-12) beat the Sioux Falls (17-15) 4-1 on Wednesday at Sioux Falls Stadium behind Chris Roberson, who went 2-5 and hit a home run.
He singled in the third inning.Matthew Rusch racked up seven strikeouts in the the Winnipeg win. Rusch allowed one earned run on eight hits and two walks over eight innings.
The Winnipeg couldn't get anything going as long as Kyle Mertins was on the mound. Mertins held the Winnipeg hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Mitchell Clegg couldn't get it done on the bump for the Sioux Falls, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
