The Grand Prairie (12-10) trailed by two in the eighth, but Keanon Simon was able to capture the lead back with a triple in the eighth, spurring the Grand Prairie to a 9-7 win over the El Paso (5-18) at Cohen Stadium on Sunday.
With the Grand Prairie trailing by two in the eighth inning, Simon came to the plate and tripled, scoring Zane Chavez, David Thomas and Yasutsugu Nishimoto.
Simon racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Grand Prairie. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings and tripled in the eighth inning.
Nelson Teilon racked up two RBIs on two hits for the El Paso. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
Griffin Bailey got the win, running his season record to 1-3. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Kyle Cremers was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
