The bats were busy at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Wednesday, and when the dust cleared the Gary SouthShore (4-3) had a 17-8 win over the Kansas City (2-5).

The two teams combined for 32 hits in the game.

Eight runs in the first three innings helped the Gary SouthShore blow out the Kansas City . A two-run single by Rico Washington and a groundout by Craig Maddox in the first inning and a two-run single by Michael Coles, an RBI single by Kyle Haines, a wild pitch, and a wild pitch during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Gary SouthShore .

Washington racked up five RBIs on four hits for the Gary SouthShore .

Nolan Nicholson brought the heat against the Kansas City during his outing. Nicholson held the Kansas City hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Nick Singleton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked four and struck out two.
