Sanchez gives the Somerset Patriots late push to beat the Bridgeport Bluefish, 5-4

Yunesky Sanchez drove in the go-ahead run to give the Somerset Patriots (59-63) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Somerset Patriots hung on to beat the Bridgeport Bluefish (54-64) 5-4 on Sunday.

Freddie Bynum singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Joe Holden. Finally, Sanchez came to the plate with the score tied at four in the seventh inning, and singled, plating Bynum.

Bynum did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Somerset Patriots, reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Andrew Dobies had an impressive outing against the Bridgeport Bluefish's lineup. Dobies held the Bridgeport Bluefish hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Luis Lopez had a hot bat for the Bridgeport Bluefish. Lopez went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Andy Sisco improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Somerset Patriots. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Matt Pike ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
