Navarrete helps the Long Island Ducks down the Bridgeport Bluefish 12-7

Ray Navarrete had two extra base hits, sparking the Long Island Ducks (46-46) to a 12-7 victory over the Bridgeport Bluefish (43-49) on Sunday at Bethpage Ballpark.

He homered in the fifth inning, singled in the sixth innings, and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Bridgeport Bluefish were led by a flawless day at the dish by Brett Dowdy, who went 2-2 against the Long Island Ducks' pitching. He singled in the seventh and eighth innings.

Bob Zimmermann got the win, running his season record to 5-5. He allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Dan Serafini (4-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked two and struck out none.

The Long Island Ducks' Joash Brodin, Dan Lyons, Bryant Nelson and Navarrete combined for 10 hits and 11 RBIs.
