Miscue gives the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 8-7 walk-off victory over the Long Island Ducks

A walk-off error from Mike Daniel brought home the winning run for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (42-47) in an 8-7 victory over the Long Island Ducks (45-44) in 13 innings at Regency Furniture Stadium on Thursday.

Daniel did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Jesse Gutierrez put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the second and ninth innings.

Jim Ed Warden had an impressive outing against the Long Island Ducks' lineup. Ed Warden held the Long Island Ducks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Charlie Manning improved to 4-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Manning struck out none, walked two and gave up one hit.

Jared Lansford couldn't get it done on the mound for the Long Island Ducks, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' Gutierrez, Jeremy Owens, Paco Figueroa and Christian Lopez combined for 12 hits and four RBIs.
