The Somerset Patriots (43-43) and the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (38-46) passed the lead back and forth four times on Friday at TD Bank Ballpark, but in the end the Somerset Patriots pulled out a 6-5 win in seven innings over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
Jesse Hoorelbeke paced the Somerset Patriots at the plate. Hoorelbeke went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.
Casey Benjamin racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He homered in the fifth inning.
Andrew Dobies got the win, running his season record to 1-2. Dobies struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Chris Mobley (3-2) took the loss for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
