Casey Benjamin brought home the winning run to give the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (33-42) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs hung on to beat the Sugar Land Skeeters (31-44) 4-3 on Tuesday.

Jeremy Owens reached on an error to start the ninth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Benjamin came to the plate with the score tied at three in the ninth inning, and, plating Owens.

Owens racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He homered in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

David Jones baffled the Sugar Land Skeeters, striking out 10 batters. Jones allowed three earned runs on four hits and one walk over 6 2/3 innings.

Chris Mobley recorded his third win of the year for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Roberto Giron (1-1) took the loss for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
