The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (30-37) didn't put up much of a fight on Thursday, as the Somerset Patriots (32-35) cruised to a blowout 11-5 win at Regency Furniture Stadium.
A three-run home run by Jeff Nettles delivered the runs in the sixth. The Somerset Patriots had one hit in the inning.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with five lead changes.
Yusuf Carter racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Somerset Patriots. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Tobi Stoner got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over five innings. Stoner struck out nine, walked three and gave up six hits.
Deinys Suarez was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out five.
