Story by Narrative Science.

Mike Recchia hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Recchia threw a shutout to carry the Windy City ThunderBolts (40-29) to a 4-0 victory over the Rockford RiverHawks (30-40) at Standard Bank Stadium.

The Windy City ThunderBolts' Recchia kept the Rockford RiverHawks off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on seven hits while ringing up seven.

Bob Glover pushed the Windy City ThunderBolts ahead, in the seventh inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Travis Weaver singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Mike Torres. Finally, Glover came to the plate with the game scoreless in the seventh inning and hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Weaver.

Torres did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Windy City ThunderBolts, reaching base three times. He singled in the third and seventh innings.
