An ace performance by Mike Recchia spurred the Windy City ThunderBolts (17-13) to a 6-0 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums on Thursday at Standard Bank Stadium.

The Windy City ThunderBolts' Recchia kept the Traverse City Beach Bums (21-11) off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up eight.

The biggest inning for the Windy City ThunderBolts was the fifth. In the inning the Windy City ThunderBolts scored four runs.

Jareck West racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Bennett Whitmore (2-2) took the loss for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
